CVBee started as a branch of JR Digital Consultancy in 2024. The trigger was hard to miss: after the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, the job market contracted sharply. The construction boom ended, major projects wound down, and thousands of highly experienced professionals found themselves competing for a smaller number of opportunities. Senior candidates were applying for roles they were overqualified for. Strong CVs were being filtered out before a human ever read them.
Joanna and Khaled Rekik saw this firsthand. Joanna brought HR training and a deep understanding of what recruiters actually look for. Khaled brought the technical expertise to build a platform that could scale. Together they built CVBee — a professional CV writing service designed specifically for the Gulf market, where the rules are different, the stakes are high, and a well-positioned CV can be the difference between six months of silence and three interview calls in a week.
The Gulf job market became more competitive overnight. We decided to help professionals show up to it fully prepared.
What started as a two-person operation has grown into a team of specialist writers, a free AI-powered CV audit tool for the wider community, and a platform that is expanding across the GCC. Qatar came first. UAE and Saudi Arabia are next. Europe, the US, and Canada are on the roadmap for 2027.
